Theft by deception

LOCK HAVEN — A 56-year-old Lock Haven man was the victim of theft by deception welfare fraud when a fraudulent unemployment claim was opened in his name, state police at Lamar said.

The victim reported to police that he received an unemployment check in his name on July 26 in Gallagher Township which he never filed for, police said.

Harassment

MILL HALL — Jonathan Gadd, 35, of Mill Hall, was charged with harassment following a verbal altercation that turned physical with a 65-year-old Mill Hall woman, state police at Lamar said.

Gadd is accused of striking the woman in the back with a broom during the altercation in Bald Eagle Township on July 27, police said.

Charges will be filed through District Judge John Maggs’s office.

Drug possession

LOCK HAVEN — Jason Germello, 22, of Lock Haven, was charged with drug possession following a traffic stop along Route 220 South, Castanea Township, state police at Lamar said.

On July 17 at 7:44 p.m., Germello was stopped near Mile Marker 112.5 where it was determined by police he was in possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia, police said.

Charges will be filed through District Judge Keith Kibbler’s office, police said.

Burglary, trespass

LAMAR — James Evans, 53, of Lock Haven, was arrested and charged with burglary and trespass following an incident along Nittany Valley Drive, Porter Township, state police at Lamar said.

Police were called to the property, owned by Larry O’Connor, 73, of Kings Park, N.Y., for reports of a squatter when they found Evans.

Evans was taken into custody and charged through District Judge John Maggs.

Vehicle damaged

MILL HALL — State police at Lamar are investigating damage to a Dodge Ram pickup that occurred in the Lowes parking lot in Mill Hall.

According to police, the B pillar plastic cover on the passenger side was damaged between 11:40 a.m. and 12 p.m. on July 23.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact PSP Lamar at 570-726-6000.

Guns stolen

FARRANDSVILLE — Several guns valued at $550 and an ATV were stolen from a property along Graham Road, Colebrook Township, state police at Lamar said.

An unknown suspect broke into the property between June 12 and July 24, stealing a 93R17 Black Synthetic Stock with scope, a wooden stock with scope and a Crosman Arms Co. Black Co2 powered pellet pistol from the property, police said.

The suspect also stole an ATV from a detached garage before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction, police said.

Harassment

RENOVO — Ronald Mangol, 48, of Cabot, Pa., was arrested and charged with harassment through District Judge Frank P. Mills office following an incident at a camp near the intersection of Spice Wood Run Road and Escape Route, Leidy Township, state police at Lamar said.

On July 24 at about 11:30 a.m., Mangol and a 42-year-old Johnstown woman engaged in a verbal argument that turned physical when Mangol shoved the woman off the porch on top of some chairs and tables, police said.

Driving under the influence

MILLHEIM — A 68-year-old Rebersburg man was charged with driving under the influence after a one vehicle crash at the intersection of East Main and Pine streets, Millheim, state police at Rockview said.

Police responded to the scene of the crash on July 24 at 5:22 p.m. where the driver was observed to be under the influence of alcohol, police said.

Domestic assault

LOCK HAVEN — Woodward Township Police responded to a domestic assault along Riverside Terrace, Woodward Township on July 25 at 12:40 p.m.

Minor injuries were reported from both parties with the investigation ongoing, police said.

Lock Haven City Police assisted on the scene.
