Jersey Shore man allegedly sexted minor

JERSEY SHORE — Dwayne Koons, 51, of 843 Picnic Woods Road, Jersey Shore, allegedly exchanged explicit messages with a 14-year-old girl through Facebook Messenger after the two met at a picnic, according to Williamsport City police.

Koons allegedly took a picture of the child without her knowing, and exchanged sexual messages with her on the app between June 15 and June 24, according to city agent Laura Kitko.

Koons faces charges of criminal use of a communication facility, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors and indecent assault, and is being held for $35,000 bail set by District Judge Christian Frey.

PFA violation

WILLIAMSPORT — State police at Montoursville investigated a PFA violation on July 16.

According to police, a 37-year-old Mill Hall woman had a PFA against someone and it was violated through text-based communicated. The incident was reported at 2:08 p.m., in Loyalsock Township, Lycoming County.

Hit and run crash

TROUT RUN — State police at Montoursville investigated a DUI crash on July 17 in Gamble Township, Lycoming County.

According to police, Shelley Mitchell, 58, of Williamsport was involved in a hit-and-run crash involving a 61-year-old McElhattan man and a 31-year-old McElhattan man. Mitchell refused a blood draw and charges were filed in the 10:09 p.m. incident.
