Howard man arrested for assault, strangulation
HOWARD — According to state police, a Howard man is behind bars for strangling and assaulting a woman.
According to a criminal complaint, Jordan Hillard, 26, is facing charges related to strangulation, simple assault and terroristic threats.
PSP troopers say they were called Tuesday to a home on Maple Street in Howard for a 911 call with a woman screaming in the background.
When troopers arrived on scene, they say the woman told them Hillard hit and strangled her and threatened to rape and kill her. Hillard told troopers that he was packing the woman’s belongings because he did not want her at the home anymore, according to state police.
Troopers say they watched surveillance video recorded by cameras inside the home.
They say the recordings showed Hillard strangle and kick the woman before threatening to rape her.
Hillard is being held in the Centre County Correctional Facility after he failed to post bail.
