Theft investigated

LOGANTON — State police at Lamar investigated a case of theft that took place sometime between March 1 and Oct. 30 along Campground Road in Logan Township, Clinton County.

According to police, someone stole a 100-foot chain link fence, which is valued at $3,000. The property is owned by a 72-year-old Loganton man, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the theft is asked to contact state police at (570) 726-6000.

One-vehicle crash

LAMAR — State police at Lamar were called to the scene of a one-vehicle crash that took place along Interstate 80 in Porter Township, Clinton County on Nov. 19.

According to police, a 2017 Ford F-350 was traveling westbound along I-80 when a deer entered the roadway. The driver, who was not named in the report, was able to pull to the side of the road. The pickup truck was driveable from the scene in the 2:13 p.m. crash.

Two-vehicle crash

LOCK HAVEN — The Woodward Township Police Department investigated a two-vehicle crash that took place on Nov. 22 at the intersection of Mill Hill Road and Woodward Avenue.

According to police, Nancy Keiper was driving a 2014 Jeep Cherokee and was making a left turn from Woodward Avenue onto Mill Hill Road. However, she cut the turn too tight and struck a 2014 Ford Mustang being driven by Debra Mosteller, which was stopped at a stop sign on Mill Hill Road.

The Jeep Cherokee had to be towed from the scene. The Mustang was driven from the scene in the 4:05 p.m. crash.

Child abuse

MILL HALL — State police at Lamar investigated a case of child abuse that allegedly took place on Oct. 25 along Mountain Lane in Porter Township, Clinton County.

According to police, officers investigated a ChildLine referral regarding two juveniles, a boy and a girl. The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Death investigated

AVIS — State police at Lamar investigated a death that occurred in Avis Borough sometime on Oct. 30 or Oct. 31. According to police, a 61-year-old woman was found deceased inside her residence along West Central Avenue.

The cause of death will be determined by a toxicology report, police said.

Harassment

MILL HALL — State police at Lamar investigated a case of harassment that took place at Central Mountain High School on Nov. 17.

According to police, a 14-year-old female asked another 14-year-old female to go to the bathroom at CMHS to ask her about a rumor. The two became involved in an altercation and the one 14-year-old began punching the other 14-year-old in the head multiple times until a teacher intervened.

The incident took place around noon.

Two-vehicle accident

MILL HALL — State police at Lamar were called to the scene of a two-vehicle accident that took place on Oct. 10 along Main Street in Mill Hall Borough, Clinton County.

According to police, the trailer of a 2020 Freightliner V60 being driven by Katherine Jones, 53, of Lockport, N.Y., took a wide turn and struck a 2015 Freightliner being driven by John Vincent, 51, of Kaleva, N.Y. Vincent’s vehicle sustained disabling damage in the noon crash. Police were assisted at the scene by the Mill Hall Fire Department and Eagle Towing.

DUI-related crash

BELLEFONTE — A Lock Haven woman was arrested after she crashed her 2011 Chevrolet Colorado while driving under the influence on Nov. 20.

State police at Rockview said the incident occurred when Victoria Hoover, 39, crashed her vehicle on 8294 South Eagle Valley Road in Worth Township, Centre County.

She was allegedly traveling northbound and crossed the southbound lane of travel before striking a mailbox and a guide rail.

Upon making contact with Hoover, state police observed that she was showing signs of impairment.

Hoover was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence, police said in their report.

The crash took place at 1 p.m.

Weapon possession

BELLEFONTE — A prisoner at the Centre County Jail was found to be in possession of contraband by Rockview Crime Unit.

On Oct. 30, Steven Valdez-Villalta, 25, of Southhampton, N.Y., was found to be in possession of a weapon.

Police did not disclose what the weapon was specifically and the investigation is ongoing.

ID theft

HOWARD — State police at Rockview received a report of identity theft involved with a fraudulent unemployment claim.

Loretta Hale, 53, of Hillside Drive in Howard, reported that on Nov. 17, her ID was stolen and used to make the false claim.

Police said that she did not sustain any monetary loss and no arrests have been made at this time.

Two-vehicle crash

SNOW SHOE — State police at Rockview investigated a two-vehicle crash that took place along Interstate 80 on Nov. 18.

According to police, the accident involved a 1999 Ford F-150 XLT being driven by Daniel Bowers, 20, of Wellsboro, Pa., and a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee being driven by Marie Guzman, 41, of Fort Wayne, Ind. The crash occurred in the westbound lanes of I-80. No other details were reported in the 6:24 p.m. crash.

Two-vehicle accident

BELLEFONTE — State police at Rockview were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash that took place along Nittany Valley Drive in Walker Township, Centre County.

According to police, a 2012 Hyundai Veloster was traveling westbound along state Route 64 when it rear-ended a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The crash took place a little after 6 p.m. on Nov. 19.

No other details were reported by police.

One-vehicle accident

LAMAR — State police at Lamar were called to the scene of a one-vehicle crash that took place along Interstate 80 in Porter Township, Clinton County on Nov. 20.

According to police, 2019 Isuzu being driven by Bradley Saville, 41, of Brooklyn, N.Y. was traveling eastbound along I-80 when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and struck an embankment. It came to rest on its passenger side. Saville was transported to Geisinger Jersey Shore by the Goodwill Hose Ambulance Company for treatment of a suspected minor injury in the 7:32 a.m. crash.

Saville was cited for careless driving.

Roll over crash

MILL HALL — State police at Lamar investigated a one-vehicle crash that took place along the state Route 220 on-ramp in Bald Eagle Township, Clinton County on Oct. 30.

According to police, a 2013 Chevrolet Sonic being driven by Lillianne Mingle, 21, of Muncy, was traveling on the on-ramp of U.S. state Route 220 when she failed to negotiate a right-hand curve in the roadway. The vehicle left the roadway, struck an embankment and rolled over. Mingle was taken to UPMC Lock Haven by the Goodwill Hose Ambulance Company for a suspected minor injury.

Police were assisted at the scene by the Mill Hall Fire Department, EMS and Martin Motors.

The crash took place at 8:54 p.m., police said.

Bear causes crash

BEECH CREEK — State police at Lamar were called to the scene of a one-vehicle crash that took place along Eagle Valley Road in Beech Creek Township, Clinton County on Nov. 21.

According to police, a 2010 Ford Escape being driven by Frederick Park, 53, of Howard, was traveling southbound along Eagle Valley Road when a bear entered the roadway. No injuries were reported in the 5:59 p.m. crash.
