Area churches to hold vacation bible school

LOCK HAVEN — The following area churches will be hosting vacation bible school in the month of June.

∫ Great Island Presbyterian Church, 12 W. Water St., will be holding their program beginning Monday, June 24 until Thursday, June 27. This year’s theme is “Friendship Trek: Jesus, our Forever Friend” and will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.

∫ Cedar Heights Church, along Route 64, Mill Hall, will be hosting their program called “In the Wild” from Monday, June 24 to Thursday, June 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. A closing program will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 28 followed by a love offering ice cream social and silent auction of homemade goods and raffle baskets.

∫ Swissdale United Methodist Church, 974 E. Croak Hollow Rd., Lock Haven, will be hosting “To Mar and Beyond” beginning Monday, June 24 to Friday, June 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. The closing program will be on Sunday, June 30 during 11 a.m. worship services. ∫ Loganton Wesleyan Church, 4972 Long Run Rd., Loganton, will be hosting “Jesus to the Rescue” from Monday, June 24 to Friday, June 28 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Family are invited to attend an ice cream social on June 28.

∫ Rote United Methodist Church, 102 Beagle Rd., Mill Hall, will be hosting their “Heroes of the Bible” themed program from Friday, June 28 to Sunday, June 30. Friday’s program will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday’s will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with lunch provided and Sunday’s will begin during the regular service at 9:30 a.m., followed by a celebration with stories, games and snacks.

∫ Curtin United Methodist Churc, 305 Curtain Village Rd., Howard, will be hosting their program from Sunday, July 14 to Thursday, July 18 from 6:30 to 8:30 at the church. Children ages 5 to 14 are welcome to “Walk the Roman Road with Jesus.” A program will be presented to parents, family and friends on July 18 with a picnic to follow.

∫ Avis United Methodist Church, 215 Prospect Ave., will be hosting their program called “Shipwrecked: Rescued by Jesus” from Monday, July 29 to Friday, Aug. 2 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the church. Closing ceremonies will take place on Sunday, Aug. 4.
