Country style dinner at Immaculate Conception

WILLIAMSPORT — The Parishoners of Immaculate Conception Parish, 5973 Jacks Hollow Rd., invite the public to their annual country style ham and turkey dinner which will take place on Monday, Sept. 2 from noon to 6 p.m. at the church.

In addition to the dinner, sandwiches, french fries, funnel cakes, pies and ice cream will be available on the grounds as well as a few small games of chance and bingo too.

The church will also be selling a variety of homemade jams, jellies, fudge and candy in the Summer Kitchen.

Tickets cost $9.50 for adults, $4 for children ages four to 12 and children ages three and under eat free. Take out is available after 1 p.m.

Backpack giveaway

LAMAR –Lamar United Methodist Church is having a backpack giveaway for school age children on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 10 a.m. to Noon at the Lamar Methodist Church annex. All children are welcome to come and pick up a backpack with school supplies inside.

Chicken barbeque

at Dunnstown UM

DUNNSTOWN — Dunnstown United Methodist Church, 59 Church St., Dunnstown, will be hosting a chicken barbeque today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meal will include chicken, grilled by the Dunnstown Fire Company, baked beans, macaroni salad, roll and cake. The meal costs $10 and will be take out only. For tickets please call 570-748-6428.

Chicken barbeque at Oval UM

JERSEY SHORE — Oval United Methodist Church, 6796 Route 44 Hwy., Jersey Shore, will be holding a chicken barbeque on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The menu will consist of half chicken, baked beans, macaroni salad, cole slaw and cake at a cost of $10. Those who purchase a meal will have the option of take out or eating it at the church’s pavilion which is handicap accessible.

Summer Coffeehouse services

MACKEYVILLE — Mackeyville United Methodist Church Summer Coffee House services will be held on Saturday evenings Aug. 17 and Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. in the church Social Room. Come join the hand clapping music performed by local artists, the home made goodies, the fun and fellowship along with an inspirational message.
