52nd annual pork and

sauerkraut dinner

JERSEY SHORE — St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 120 Kendall Ave., Jersey Shore, will be hosting its 52nd annual Family Style pork & sauerkraut Dinner on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

Two meals will be scheduled for lunch, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and dinner, 4 to 7 p.m., with take out available all day.

The meal will consist of pork and sauerkraut, knockwurst, mashed potatoes, dumplings, homemade apple sauce, bread, homemade pie, coffee and tea.

Tickets cost $9 for adults in advance and $9.50 at the door. Children ages 12 to 6 cost $3.50 and children 5 and under eat free.

Advanced tickets can be order by calling Tammy or Denise at the Parish office at 570-745-3301 or Sue at 570-398-0352. Tickets can also be purchased at Buttorff’s Hardware and Ramona’s Hair Style in Jersey Shore.

Outdoor service at Beech Creek Wesleyan

BEECH CREEK — Beech Creek Wesleyan Church, 217 Main St., is having an outdoor service beginning at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

The Friends of Kels Lomison will be performing during the worship service. A picnic of barbeque chicken, baked potatoes and much more will follow at the conclusion of the service.

An offering will be collected for the Lomisons. Everyone is welcome. Please bring a lawn chair.

Fifth Sunday service

FLEMINGTON — Flemington United Methodist Church, 225 High St., Flemington, will be hosting their sister churches Lamar and Mill Hall for a 5th Sunday Service on Sept. 29 at 11 a.m.

A lunch will follow the service.

Laurel Run UMC to celebrate 125th birthday

MILL HALL — Laurel Run United Methodist Church will be celebrating its 125th birthday today beginning at 4 p.m.

The celebration will include special performances by Beth Young, Reverend Bruce Wallace, Susan, Megan and Gretchen Smith and Elaine Barth. All are welcome to attend the event.

Hot dogs and hamburgers will be served and guests are asked to bring a covered dish to share.

The congregation asks anyone who is interested to join them for a wonderful evening of fellowship, reminiscing and celebration.

Covenant UM monthly

soup sales

LOCK HAVEN — Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., will begin their monthly soup sales starting Oct. 5.

Take out orders only. Orders must be called into the church at 570-748-6481 (Monday through Wednesday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) by Sept. 30.

Pick-up will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 5. This month’s soup will be Zuppa Toscana at $7 per quart.

The church will also be selling homemade bread costing $4 a loaf.

Fresh homemade doughnuts are back

JERSEY SHORE — Trinity United Methodist Church, 1407 Allegheny St., will be offering fresh homemade doughnuts on Thursday, Oct. 17. Walk-ins are welcome after 7 a.m. that day.

To order doughnuts, call the church office at 570-398-2913 Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to place an order and give approximate time of pick-up on Oct. 17.

The cost is $6 per dozen and $3 for a half-dozen.

Covenant and Faith UM to hold Fifth Sunday service

LOCK HAVEN — Covenant and Faith United Methodist Churches will be holding a combined worship service at Covenant United Methodist, 44 Main St., Lock Haven, on Sept. 29 at 8:45 a.m. A breakfast brunch will follow the service which will include potato casseroles along with fruit, beverages and pastries. Everyone is invited to attend.

Hoagie sale at

Lamar Methodist

LAMAR — Lamar Methodist Church is having a hoagie sale with orders due by Sept. 29. Orders can be picked up at the church at 4 p.m. on Oct. 10. Anyone wishing to place an order can do so by calling 570-748-6694. All proceeds will benefit the hardship fund to help families in need.

NVF meeting Oct. 7

HUBLERSBURG — Nittany Valley Fellowship will be holding its next meeting on Monday, Oct. 7 beginning at 7 p.m. at Trinity Reformed Church, Hublersburg. The Fall Hymn Sing will also take place on Oct. 13 beginning at 7 p.m. at Nittany Valley Alliance Church of Hecla.

7th annual Knit N Run

MILL HALL — Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall, will be hosting its 7th annual Knit N Run on Saturday, Oct. 5 starting at 10 a.m. Thousands of hand made items will be on display for the public to view before they are transported by the Susquehanna Valley Big Twins Motorcycle club to local nursing homes, personal care homes and hospitals. Refreshments will be served.

Chicken and biscuit dinner

JERSEY SHORE — Oriole United Methodist Church, 39 Main Rd., Jersey Shore, will be hosting a chicken and biscuit dinner on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. Tickets cost $6.50 for adults, $4 for children age five to 12 and children four and under eat free. Tickets can be purchased at the door, take out will be available.

LOCK HAVEN — First Church of Christ, 330 N. Vesper St., will be hosting a fall festival on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free and will include food, games, prizes, a bounce house, a bike give away and Kid Notes Performance at noon.

SALONA — Rote and Salona United Methodist Churches will be holding a Tureen on Sunday, Sept. 29 at Rote United Methodist Church, 102 Beagle Road., Mill Hall, beginning at noon.

LOCK HAVEN — United Evangelical Lutheran Church, 104 W. Church St., Lock Haven, will begin hosting Youth Bible Study on Sunday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The program will take place every month and include dinner, a bible lesson, crafts and music with Pastor Karl Runser. Youth of all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend.
