World Wide Communion Service

BEECH CREEK — St. Luke’s United Church of Christ will be holding a World Wide Communion Service this Sunday, Oct. 6, at its 10:45 a.m. worship service.

The church will also have a Neighbors in Need collection which is used to support many different ministries.

St. Luke’s is also preparing for its annual Fall Fair which will be held Saturday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be a yard sale, bake goods and fudge sale, various vendor stands, and raffle baskets.

Food to be served will include soup, yummy sandwiches and delicious homemade desserts.

Fall Festival at Living Faith Ministries

MILL HALL — Living Faith Ministries, 7175 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall, will be hosting their annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to attend this free outdoor event which includes a puppet show, pumpkin chunkin, hayrides, face painting, pie eating contest, pumpkin decorating, kids games, a maze, door prizes and free food!

Come as you are or dress up in a costume.

Missions pancake breakfast fundraiser

BELLEFONTE — Zion Community Church, 3261 Zion Road, Bellefonte will be hosting a Mission Fundraiser Pancake Breakfast & Bake Sale on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 8-11 a.m.

Cost is $6 (children 3 and under free). Take-outs are available by calling or texting 717-645-7147.

All profits will go to the Missions that ZCC supports.



FLEMINGTON — Flemington First Church of Christ will be hosting a cornhole tournament on Saturday, Nov. 2 with proceeds to benefit the Pregnancy Resource Clinic.

Registration costs $40 per team before Oct. 16 and $50 per team after. Any team who registers before the deadline will be guaranteed an event t-shirt.

Registration will begin on Nov. 2 at 8 a.m. with the tournament to begin at 9.

Teams of two can pre-register for a double elimination bracket by visiting LHPRC.com or by calling 814-234-7341. Pre-registration is required, no walk-ins.

Registration will be open to 32 teams of two on a first come-first serve basis. Awards will be given to top teams and food will be available at the event for purchase.

Game night at Flemington FCOC

FLEMINGTON — Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., will be hosting game night on Sunday beginning at 5 p.m.

Bring your favorite card or board game to play and a snack and drink to share!


soup sale

HOWARD — Howard United Methodist Church will sponsor a community soup sale on Oct. 17.

Eat in or take out. Pre-orders for quarts of soup should be made by Sunday prior to luncheon. Contact Patti Long at 814-625-2182. Soup comes in freezable containers.

Cost is $6 for lunch or quarts of soup.

Proceeds from soup sales are designated to local missions in the area. Invite a friend, come for lunch and enjoy a time of good food and fellowship while supporting a worthy cause!

Fall vegetable soup and yard sale

MONTOURSVILLE — Episcopal Church of Our Saviour, 31 N. Loyalsock Ave., Montoursville, will be holding a fall vegetable soup and indoor year sale with baked goods and lunch on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Soup costs $5 per quart and can be ordered by calling 570-368-1863.

Spaghetti dinner

FLEMINGTON — HOPE Mission West will be hosting a spaghetti dinner on Oct. 19 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St.

Cost for the meal is a donation and will include spaghetti with meat balls, salad, dessert, bread and drink.

The dinner will benefit their trip to the Dominican Building Project.
