Lifetree Ministries to host movie night

JERSEY SHORE — Lifetree Ministries, 500 River Road, Jersey Shore, will be hosting a family movie night Friday evening, October 18 at 7 p.m. with free admission, and free food and drinks beginning at 6:30 p.m. The movie to be screened is “War Room” and everyone is invited.

From the creators of “Fireproof” and “Courageous,” this movie is a compelling faith drama filled with humor and heart that became the #1 movie in U.S. theaters and received rave reviews from audiences of all ages. Chili supper

BELLEFONTE — Trinity United Methodist Church, 128 W. Howard St., Bellefonte, will be hosting a chili supper on Friday, Oct. 25 from 4 to 7 p.m.

The meal will consist of chili, cornbread, applesauce, dessert and beverage and can be eaten in or taken out.The cost for the meal is a donation.

Pot pie soup and bread dinner

BELLEFONTE — Bald Eagle Valley Community Church, 111 Runville Road, Bellefonte, will be hosting a ham and chicken pot pie dinner with a variety of soups, fresh baked bread and rolls, salad and desserts.

Due to overwhelming response to the dinners the church has been selling out very quickly.

Take-outs must be pre-ordered by calling Sherry Lucas at 814-355-0259. Please leave a message with your name, what kind of pot pie you prefer and quantity anytime until 11 a.m. the day of the dinner.

Fall

Hymn Sing

MINGOVILLE — On Sunday Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. at The Nittany Alliance Church, Mingoville, the Nittany Valley Fellowship will be having its annual fall Hymn Sing.

It’s an expense free night, except for the offering plate being passed around, with lots of good singing and entertainment from choirs and individuals from the area. There will also be refreshments after for those wishing to stay. Everyone is welcome.

Dave Ramsey Financial Peace Course

BEECH CREEK – Beech Creek Wesleyan Church, 217 Main St., Beech Creek, is excited about the opportunity to offer a Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University course at the church.

Financial Peace is a proven program that has helped over 6 million people get out of debt and save money.

Classes will last about an hour and a half beginning on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 10:30 a.m. and will continue weekly for a total of nine weeks. The cost is $130 per couple.

Hayride and kettle boil

LOGANTON — St. John’s United Church of Christ, 3782 Narrows Road, Loganton, will be hosting their annual hayride and kettle boil on Oct. 19.

The wagon will be loaded up at 3:30 p.m. with a departure planned for 4. A dinner will follow the ride.

Please bring your own table wear. A donation list is available in the hallway of the church.

Fall festival

BLANCHARD — Blanchard Church of Chirst will be hosting a fall festival beginning at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27.

Everyone is invited to attend and wear a costume, please nothing scary. Prizes will be awarded to the best costume in each age group.

Bakers are encouraged to bring a fall dessert to be judged for a prize. There will also be a chili and fall soup cook-off contest. The winner of the cook-off will receive a prize.

Those who plan on attending are encouraged to bring a party food to share, hot dogs, chili, soup and dessert will be provided.

Following the festival will be trick or treating for all the children.

wanted for Craft Show

MILL HALL — Nittany Valley Fellowship Church, 6436 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall, are looking for vendors for their craft show on Nov. 23.

Spaces cost $10. Those interested can contact Mary Ann at 570-297-8324 to learn more about how to sign up.

The show will also feature a soup sale.

Fall Fair at

St. Luke’s

BEECH CREEK — St. Luke’s United Church of Christ is preparing for its annual Fall Fair which will be held Saturday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be a yard sale, bake goods and fudge sale, various vendor stands, and raffle baskets.

Food to be served will include soup, yummy sandwiches and delicious homemade desserts.

MILL HALL — Living Faith Ministries, 7175 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall, will be hosting their annual Fall Festival on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cornhole tournament

FLEMINGTON — Flemington First Church of Christ will be hosting a cornhole tournament on Saturday, Nov. 2 with proceeds to benefit the Pregnancy Resource Clinic. Registration costs $40 per team before Oct. 16 and $50 per team after. Registration will begin on Nov. 2 at 8 a.m. with the tournament to begin at 9. Teams of two can pre-register for a double elimination bracket by visiting LHPRC.com or by calling 814-234-7341. Pre-registration is required, no walk-ins.
