Chicken and waffle dinner

LOGANTON — Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren will be hosting a chicken and waffle dinner on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 4 to 7 p.m.

The meal will consist of chicken and gravy over waffles, candied baby carrots, creamy coleslaw and a variety of desserts.

Cost is a donation and take out will be available.

Blue grass gospel

LINDEN — Pine Run United Methodist Church, 1719 Pine Run Road, Linden, will be hosting a blue grass gospel concert featuring The Greenwood Valley Boys on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 6 p.m.

The event is free to the public with the chance to contribute a free-will offering.

Halloween luncheon

MILL HALL — St. Luke’s United Church of Christ will be having a Halloween luncheon Sunday after the 10:45 a.m. worship service in the fellowship hall.

All food will be provided for the luncheon.

Veterans recognition dinner

LAMAR — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints will be hosting a Veterans Recognition Dinner on Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. in the Porter Township Community Center.

The dinner is sponsored by the church, the Veterans Benefit Office and the Porter Township Activities Committee.

The dinner is free of charge and those interested in attending must RSVP by Oct. 28 by calling 570-748-7504. Veterans can bring one guest to the meal.

There will be music and David W. Bower, U.S. Army Retired and VFW Service Officer, will speak at the event.

Lomison & Friends

DUNNSTOWN — Dunnstown United Methodist Church will be hosting Lomison & Friends, a program of hymns and gospel songs, on Sunday from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

A love collection will be taken during the program.

Fall festival at Pine Run

LINDEN — Pine Run United Methodist Church, 1719 Pine Run Road, Linden, will be hosting a festival on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 3 to 5 p.m.

Spiritual enrichment services

LOGANTON — Mt. Pleasant Bible Church, 4561 Long Run Road, Loganton, will be hosting Spiritual Enrichment services on Sunday, Nov. 3 through Wednesday, Nov. 6.

Sunday services will be at 9 and 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday’s services will begin at 7 p.m.

Ben Haupt, a member of evangelistic ministries for over 14 years, will be the guest speaker.

Ben’s love for the Lord and the zeal for the word of God is evident in his preaching. The Haupts have five children and live in Spring Mills.

Trick or treat

DUNNSTOWN — Dunnstown United Methodist Church will be hosting trick or treating at the church on Oct. 31. Anyone wishing to donate a bag of candy should see Eleanor, Nancy A. or Carol.

Surviving the Holidays

JERSEY SHORE — Crossroads Community Church, 1454 Route 44 Hwy., Jersey Shore, will be hosting a Surviving the Holidays event designed to help those dealing with grief.

At the event participants will have the chance to discover how to prepare for the holidays when you are grieving the loss of a loved one and how to hope for the future.

The event will take place on Nov. 25 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and is free to attend.
