LOCK HAVEN — First Baptist Church of Lock Haven is starting a radio ministry Sunday morning Dec. 1. The thirty minute pre-record program will air each week at 7 a.m. on WBPZ 12.30 AM and 96.9 FM. Hear the Word will feature music, announcements, and a 15 minute devotional message from Pastor Doug Packard.

Pastor Doug Packard says, “We chose that label to highlight my goal for the broadcast each week. I want to invite each who listen to understand the important truths in the Bible. Jesus said, He that hath ears to hear let him hear. We are abbreviating His exhortation by calling our program Hear the Word. This is a ministry of the church and is sponsored by Tom Foy and Jeff Bayliff.”

Foy and Bayliff mentioned their motivation to get their pastor on the radio.

“We are so thankful to have Doug Packard and his wife Jill living and laboring with us here at FBC. Our church family feels they are two of the finest Christians and hardest working servants we have ever met. Through radio we want to give our community the opportunity to get to know Doug Packard as we have. Radio can introduce you to him… get to know his heart and then come by for a visit in a church service to meet him personally,” they said.

First Baptist Church is located at the corner of Church and Vesper streets in Lock Haven. Sunday morning worship services are at 10:30 a.m.
