St. Luke’s to hold Hanging of the Greens service

FLEMINGTON — St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Flemington will be preparing for Advent by having a Hanging of the Greens service at its 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday, Nov. 24.

St. Luke’s series for Advent will be entitled “Joy to the World” exploring the Christmas classic by Composer Isaac Watt’s interpretation of Psalm 98 in the well known Christmas carol. All are invited to join St. Luke’s for fellowship and worship.

Craft show and soup sale

MILL HALL — New Hope Fellowship Church, 6436 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall, will be hosting a craft show and soup sale today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A variety of craft items will be for sale including hand crafted items, wreaths, gourd snowmen, penguins, Santas, farmhouse decor, hand painted signs, holiday ornaments, painted pictures, candies, decorated travel mugs, hand-made pens, wood decor and non-season decor just to name a few.

Homemade soups, baked goods and lunch will be offered throughout the day.

Beech Creek/Blanchard Community Thanksgiving Service

BEECH CREEK – Join the Beech Creek/Blanchard community in worshipping and giving thanks to the Lord. On Sunday, Nov. 24, Beech Creek Wesleyan Church will host a Community Thanksgiving Worship Service held at 6 p.m. Pastor Christ Davis of Liberty Baptist Church in Blanchard will be preaching.

NV Fellowship Thanksgiving service

LAMAR — Nittany Valley Fellowship charge will hold a Thanksgiving Eve service beginning at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at Lamar United Methodist Church.

Many of the churches will be participating in this service. If you can, members of the fellowship ask you take a little time out of your busy schedule to come and give thanks and praise to God and is Son.

Christmas concert at Covenant UM

LOCK HAVEN — On Dec. 8 at 3 p.m., Covenant United Methodist’s Adult Choir, under the direction of Kay E. Knarr-Fisher, will present many anthems of the Christmas season.

Conrad D. Schlesinger will play the organ/piano and Beverly Schmidt will provide musical selections. Mark and Martha Rowedder, Bill Bovier and Kay E. Knarr-Fisher will provide two quartet selections.

Refreshments will be served following the concert.

Spaghetti dinner to benefit cancer patient

AVIS — On Friday, Dec. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m., Avis United Methodist Church and All Things Bright and Beautiful Daycare, 215 Prospect Ave., Avis, will be having a Spaghetti Dinner to benefit Diane Goodreau and her family in their fight against cancer.

Christmas Bazaar

JERSEY SHORE — St John Lutheran Church, 229 S. Broad St., Jersey Shore, will have its annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. There will be a Cookie Table, Christmas Crafts, Holiday Arrangements and a Gift Table. Lunch platters will be available for $5. Kids eat free. Visit with Santa between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Pancakes with Santa

AVIS –Avis United Methodist Church, 215 Prospect Ave., Avis, will be having their annual Pancakes with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9 to 11 a.m.

Concert at JS Assembly of God

JERSEY SHORE — Jersey Shore Assembly of God in Antes Fort will host The Stevenson Family in Concert on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. during the evening service.

The Stevenson Family has been ministering the gospel for 30 years.

Sauerkraut dinner

MILL HALL — Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall, will be offering a complimentary, all you care to enjoy, New Year’s Day sauerkraut dinner including desserts from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Take outs are available and the church is handicap accessible.

Free Thanksgiving dinner

BEECH CREEK — Beech Creek Wesleyan Church, 217 Main St., Beech Creek, will be hosting a Thanksgiving Day Dinner. Dine in or take out will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28. To order delivery please call 570-295-7217 or 570-962-2732 by Nov. 27 with number of meals requested, name, address and phone as well as approximate time for delivery. This meal if free for all to enjoy.
