Carol Sing

and Choir Concert

LOCK HAVEN — The annual Carol Sing and Choir Concert will be presented at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 112 E. Main St., Lock Haven on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. The concert will feature a wide variety of music.

Beginning at 6:45 a brass choir under the direction of Dave Sorgen will present various carols. Vocal solos will be performed by Beth Young and Elaine Barth. Also, Melissa Backer, violinist will accompany some of the anthems. Pat Helbley will playing the organ and piano, assisted by Sherry MeGraw.

In addition, a number of choral works will be offered by the choir. There will be lots of crowd participation on many popular Christmas Carols.

Other special musical numbers will be a harp solo by Jaime Castillo and a folk number presented Doug Madenford and Melissa Becker. While the concert is free, those attending, are requested to bring a food item for St. Paul’s Tiny Food Pantry.

The concert should last about an hour and is sure to get you in the Christmas mood.

Coats for Kids distribution

RENOVO — Zion’s Lutheran Church, 1100 Huron Ave., Renovo, will be hosting a Coats for Kids distribution today and tomorrow from 3 to 5 p.m. each day or until coats are gone.

Coats of various sizes will be provided free of charge to children, ages ranging from infant to 18 years of age who reside within Renovo and the surrounding area.

If you have children or know of children who are in need of a winter coat, we highly encourage you to visit on the date(s) and times provided.

Children must be present and fitted to receive a coat. One coat per child.

New Hope Christmas bazaar

BELLEFONTE — New Hope United Methodist Church at Zion will hold their annual Christmas bazaar today from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Christmas concert

with Dave Boonie

HOWARD — Summit Hill Wesleyan Church will hold a Christmas concert featuring Dave Booni and his auto harp on Sunday beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Dave’s God given talent with the auto harp has blessed many lives and in his Christmas concert those in attendance will experience the songs of the holiday in a wonderful way.

Be sure to bring your kids and don’t miss this special time of preparing your hearts for the Christmas celebration.

Trinity Christmas program

MACKEYVILLE — Mackeyville United Methodist Church will host the Trinity Christmas Program on Sunday beginning at 6 p.m.

There will be lots of music and a wonderful Christmas play to put you in the Christmas spirit. As always there will be a time for fellowship over Christmas treats in the Social Room following the program.

Wendy’s fundraiser night

LOCK HAVEN — Lamar United Methodist Church will be having a Wendy’s fundraiser night from 5 to 8 p.m. at the restauraunt on Bellefonte Avenue in Lock Haven on Monday, Dec. 9. 10 percent of all sales will help with the church’s hardship/maintenance funds.

Pancake supper

BELLEFONTE — Trinity United Methodist Church, 128 W. Howard St., Bellefonte, will hold a pancake supper on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Pancakes and toppings, sausage, apple sauce and a beverage will be avaible at the cost of a donation to the church.

Pleasant Gap UM announces events

PLEASANT GAP — Pleasant Gap United Methodist Church, 179 S. Main St., will be holding a free community breakfast on Dec. 14 beginning at 8 a.m. until 9. Mrs. Claus will be back again to see the children with a gift.

Christmas concert at Covenant UM

LOCK HAVEN — On Dec. 8 at 3 p.m., Covenant United Methodist’s Adult Choir, under the direction of Kay E. Knarr-Fisher, will present many anthems of the Christmas season. Conrad D. Schlesinger will play the organ/piano and Beverly Schmidt will provide musical selections. Mark and Martha Rowedder, Bill Bovier and Kay E. Knarr-Fisher will provide two quartet selections. Refreshments will be served following the concert.

Christmas Bazaar

JERSEY SHORE — St John Lutheran Church, 229 S. Broad St., Jersey Shore, will have its annual Christmas Bazaar today, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. There will be a Cookie Table, Christmas Crafts, Holiday Arrangements and a Gift Table. Lunch platters will be available for $5.00, kids eat free. Visit with Santa between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.

Pancakes with Santa

AVIS –Avis United Methodist Church, 215 Prospect Ave., Avis, will be having their annual Pancakes with Santa today from 9 to 11 a.m.

Concert at JS Assembly of God

JERSEY SHORE — Jersey Shore Assembly of God in Antes Fort will host The Stevenson Family in Concert on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. during the evening service. The Stevenson Family has been ministering the gospel for 30 years.

Sauerkraut dinner

MILL HALL — Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall, will be offering a complimentary, all you care to enjoy, New Year’s Day sauerkraut dinner including desserts from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Take outs are available and the church is handicap accessible.
