Homemade soup and used book sale

AVIS — Avis United Methodist Church, 215 Prospect Ave., will be having a Homemade Soup and Used Book sale on Feb. 22 from 8 a.m. to noon.

New this year, they will be offering a breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m., which you can purchase for $5 a plate and soup by the quart for $5.

Featured soups include vegetable beef, turkey noodle and ham and bean. For more information please call the office at 570-753-8137 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

Homemade donuts

JERSEY SHORE — Trinity United Methodist Church, 1407 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, will be holding a fresh homemade donut sale on Thursday, Feb. 20.

Donuts cost $6 a dozen or $3 for half a dozen. Orders can be made by calling 570-398-2913 between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please give an approximate pick up time with your order.

Walk ins will be welcome on the day of pick up from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m. or until the donuts are sold out.

Rachael Karwowski’s final performance

SWISSDALE — Rachael Karwowski will be putting on her final performance to help raise money for a trip to Europe with the Mansfield University Concert Choir in July.

The concert will be on Saturday, Feb. 29 at 3 p.m. at Swissdale United Methodist Church, 974 Croak Hollow Road, Lock Haven.

Annual Lenten Soup Sale and Luncheon

MONTOURSVILLE — Episcopal Church of Our Savior, 31 N. Loyalsock Ave., Montoursville, will be holding their Annual Lenten Soup Sale and Luncheon every Thursday from Feb. 27 to April 2.

The luncheons will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and include hamburg barbeque, hot dogs, homemade vegetable soup, baked beans and homemade pies.

The cost for soup is $5 per quart. To place an order please call 570-368-1863.

Soup sale

LOCK HAVEN — Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven, will be selling cheesy chicken rice soup for March at $7 a quart and homemade bread for $4 a loaf.

Orders must be called into the church at 570-748-6481 by 1 p.m. one March 2. Pickup will be March 7 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Lenten Services

MILL HALL – Lamar United Methodist Church, 5029 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall, will be hosting Lenten Services with its sister churchs every Sunday from March 1 to 29 at 7 p.m..

Communion will only be held on March 1, 15 and 29 this year and an offering will be taken for the Jackson Runkle family. Jackson is 7 years old and was diagnosed with brain cancer.

Spaghetti dinner

JERSEY SHORE — Oriole United Methodist Church, 39 Main Road, Jersey Shore, will be hosting a spaghetti dinner on Saturday, March 7 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost $6.50 for adults, $4 for children ages three to 12 and children under three eat free. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Take outs are available.

Soup sale and luncheon

HOWARD — Howard United Methodist Church, 144 W. Main St., will be sponsoring a community soup sale on Feb. 20 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Eat in or take out. Preorders for quarts of soup should be made by Sunday prior to the lunchon. Contact Patti Long at 814-625-2182 to order. The soup will come in freezable containers. Proceeds from the soup sale are designated to local missions in the area. Invite a friend, come for lunch and enjoy a time of good food and good fellowship while supporting a worthy cause.

Leap year dance

STATE COLLEGE — The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Jazz Band will be performing at the United Universalist Fellowship of Centre County, 780 Waupelani Drive Extension, State College, on Saturday, Feb. 29 for their Leap Year Dance. The dance will be from 7 to 9:30 p.m. and cost $5 for adults, $3 for students and children five and under for free. Proceeds will benefit Interfaith Human Services, Inc.
