Pulled Pork Lunch

LOGANTON — The Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren, 2305 E. Winter Rd. Loganton, will hold a take-out only pulled pork lunch on Sat., Oct. 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The meal will consist of pulled pork, potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw, a roll, and cake for dessert. The cost is a donation. Meals can be picked up outside the kitchen door in the parking lot, and will be available on a first come, first served basis.

Fall Fest

MILL HALL –Echo Hope Assembly, 320 Hogan Blvd.,will hold a Fall Fest drive-thru carnival from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Contactless games, prepackaged snacks and treats, and a photo booth will be available. Wear costumes if you would like, or dress the family in fall colors! We’ll take the digital pic! You’ll be challenged to escape the drive thru by solving a riddle as you progress through the stations in your car. Students in Pre-K through high school are welcome to participate. We can’t wait to see you!

Trunk R Treat

BEECH CREEK — Beech Creek Wesleyan Church, 217 Main St., will be hosting their Annual Trunk R Treat on Oct. 31 from 5-7 p.m. COVID-19 precautions will be in place.

Blessing of the Pets

FLEMINGTON — St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Flemington will be offering a “Blessing of the Pets” outdoor service today. Interested parties may bring their pets to the church parking lot anytime between 1 and 3 p.m. Parking will be in the back of the lot and the blessing will take place in the front of the lot. All pets are welcome. For the safety of others, please make sure that pets are in a carrier or on a leash. Pet owners are required to wear face coverings.

Fall Food Collection

FLEMINGTON — St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Flemington will be having a Fall Food Collection for the local Salvation Army. The collection period will be Sunday, Oct. 11 through Sunday, Nov. 1. Oct. 19 will be Instant Mashed Potatoes, Oct. 25 will be canned turkey gravy and Nov. 11 will be kid-friendly soup (Please, no tomato soup or out of date items).

LH Christian Women’s Group to meet Oct. 28

LOCK HAVEN — The Lock Haven Christian Women’s Connection (formerly Lock Haven Christian Women’s Club) will meet Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020 at 1 p.m. at the Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal Street, Allison Township.The group will not have lunch and will meet in the church sanctuary as the church is set up for social distancing. The program, free of charge, will feature a presentation of folk painting by local artist Deb Jones. Singing and speaking will be Eileen Banks from Rome, N. Y. Mrs. Banks was with the group last year when part of her presentation included her ventriloquist friend “Road Kill.” This year’s program is a different program but will still include “Road Kill.” Her talk explores “The Wonder of Life.”

Fall Fair Nov. 7

FLEMINGTON –St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Flemington will be holding their Fall Fair on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair will look different this year in order to keep everyone safe during the pandemic. It will once again feature a yard sale, delicious homemade pies and cookies. There will be homemade soups for $6 a quart. Soups to be offered will be vegetable beef, ham and bean, and chicken and corn soup. All food items will be served in to-go containers and there will no dining inside the fellowship hall. People are asked to please wear a mask.

Time Change

LOCK HAVEN — The Swissdale United Methodist Church, 974 E. Croak Road, Lock Haven, announced that its services will begin at 11:15 a.m. Masks are required.
