Service canceled

FLEMINGTON — St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Flemington has canceled its service for this Sunday, Dec. 20 due to COVID-19. The church will be holding a virtual service that day beginning at 10:45 a.m. and officiated by Pastor Gary Nottis.

Drive-In Christmas

Eve Service

BLANCHARD — Blanchard Church of Christ, 161 Beach St., will host a Drive-In Candlelight Christmas Eve Service in the church parking lot on Christmas Eve, Thursday, Dec. 24 at 5 p.m. You can drive in to the parking lot, remain in your car and attend the service that will be led from the outdoor stage.

Audio for the service will be broadcast over a low-band FM radio station and will also be amplified with a PA system in the parking lot. The 45-minute service will include carol singing, Christmas story scripture, communion, a message from Pastor Russel Moldovan and candlelighting.

The drive-In Christmas Eve Service at Blanchard Church of Christ will also be livestreamed over Facebook Live.

A love offering will be accepted to benefit the foreign missions supported by the church in England, Vietnam, Honduras and Haiti as these missions have been drastically impacted financially by the COVID-19 crisis.

Cedar Heights

Christmas Eve Service

MILL HALL — Cedar Heights Church, Route 64, Mill Hall, will be holding an outdoor Christmas Eve Service on Dec. 24 at 6 p.m. in the pavilion area off of the church parking lot.

The service will include worshipping, singing carols, and reading scripture about the birth of Christ and conclude with a candle lighting.

Since it is outside, masks are optional and we ask that everyone be respectful in maintaining proper physical distancing from others. Dress warmly as the service will be outside no matter what the weather brings and will last approximately 40 minutes.

Events canceled

MILL HALL — The Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 222 Main St., Mill Hall, has canceled their 7:30 p.m. Christmas Eve service and also their annual New Years Day sauerkraut dinner which was to take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

No in-person services

Due to the increase in COVID cases in our area Bishop Park and the Susquehanna Conference of the United Methodist Church has encouraged all United Methodist churches to temporarily close until further notice. They will be holding services beginning Sunday, Dec. 13 on Zoom.us or by phone at 9:30 a.m.

Both Zoom.us and phone number 415-762-9988 will use meeting ID 136 797 009. Also starting Sunday at 11 a.m. you can view services on “Albright United Methodist Church-Sugar Valley” Facebook page.

The Clinton County Cluster of the State College District will be conducting a 5 p.m. Christmas Eve drive-in service at the parking lot of the former McElhattan Outlet Mall. Also a Zoom/phone Christmas Eve service will be available for those wishing to stay in. Please use the above mentioned Zoom.us web connection or phone number and the same meeting ID.

Church updates services

BLANCHARD — Blanchard Church of Christ has updated its service times.

Services will be held at 8:30 a.m. in-person and via livestream on the churches YouTube channel — Blanchard Church of Christ — and Facebook page. Those who worship in-person must wear a mask in the building at all times until 9:45 a.m.

Sunday school will be held at 10 a.m. with masks optional and another worship service will follow at 11 a.m.

Social distancing is requested in the building at all times.

Christmas Eve dinner

JERSEY SHORE — Trinity United Methodist Church, 1407 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, will be offering a take-out only ham dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the church.

FARRANDSVILLE — The People’s United Methodist Church of Farrandsville will be closed until further notice due to COVID-19.

Blue Christmas

JERSEY SHORE — Trinity United Methodist Church, 1407 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, will be holding a community Blue Chrismas Service on Dec. 20 at 4:30 p.m. This year’s theme is “The Empty Chair.”

The service is being held in-person and may be viewed live on Facebook at www.facebook.com/tumcjs.
