Return to in-person worship

LOCK HAVEN — Great Island Presbyterian Church will begin worshipping in the social hall of the church at 12 W, Water St. on Sunday, May 2 at 10:30 a.m.

The service will be live-streamed on Facebook and the church website for those who are unable to attend. Masks and social distancing practices will be in place.

National Prayer Day

LOCK HAVEN — The National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 6. CCM (Clinton County Ministerium) is hosting a Community Prayer & Worship Service on May 6 at 7 p.m. at First Church of Christ, 330 N. Vesper St., Lock Haven, with Pastor Matt Kinley.

Worship and music will be led by Eliane Barth and Cathy Winslow.

The National Day of Prayer is a yearly national day devoted to prayer. It is a blessing to have such freedom. There is always something to bring to God in prayer including thankfulness and praise.

Each year the National Day of Prayer has a theme. “Lord, pour out your love, life and liberty.” is the theme for 2021.

This year’s verse is: 2 Corinthians 3:17 “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit is, there is liberty.”

Spring concert

WILLIAMSPORT — The Williamsport Flute Choir will be holding their spring concert on Sunday, May 2 at 2 p.m.

The concert will feature music from Baroque to Broadway and take place at First United Methodist Church, 604 Market St., Williamsport. Those in attendance are asked to wear a mask.

The concert is free but donations are accepted.

Yard and bake sale

BEECH CREEk — Laurel Run United Methodist Church, 2899 Laurel Run Road, Beech Creek, is holding their annual yard and bake sale Friday, May 14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, May 15 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Drive-by prayer

MILL HALL — Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main Street, Mill Hall, will offer a drive-by prayer time to the community. The church hopes to offer this service once a month. The first drive by prayer time will be Wednesday, May 5 from 1 to 2 p.m.

Anyone who would like someone to pray with them for any reason may drive into the alley which leads to the back of the church. Someone will be there to meet them at the car, for private prayers. The church asks that masks be in place at all times.

A prayer shawl or afghan will be given to each person asking for prayers.

Walkers and bikers are also welcome.

Chicken and waffles

LOCK HAVEN — Hillview Wesleyan Church, 1200 W. Fourth St., Lock Haven, will be holding a chicken and waffles dinner from 4 to 7 p.m., today.

The meal includes chicken gravy with waffles, mashed potatoes and green beans or corn, apple sauce and a drink. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages three to eight and children under three eat free.

Those interested can eat in or take out their meal.

All proceeds will benefit the Pregnancy Resources Clinic in Lock Haven.

Soup sale

BELLEFONTE — Trinity United Methodist Church, 128 W. Howard St., Bellefonte, will be holding a pick up only soup sale on Saturday, May 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Soups available are ham and bean, chili, vegetable beef, ham green beans and potatoes, chicken corn and stuffed peppers for $7 per quart. Preorders can be made by calling 814-355-9425.

Oriole UM to hold yard sale

JERSEY SHORE — Oriole United Methodist Church, 39 Main Road, Jersey Shore, will be holding a yard sale on Friday, May 7 and Saturday, May 8 starting at 8 a.m. at the church.

In-person worship

The Caldwell/Woolrich Charge of the United Methodist Church will meet in-house for worship beginning April 4 and until further notice. Pandemic safety guidelines will be in place, with masks and social distancing required. Caldwell Peoples Church worship service will begin at 8:30 a.m. and Woolrich Community Church at 9:45 a.m.

In-person services

JACKSONVILLE — The Nittany Valley Charge United Church of Christ have resumed in-person Sunday morning worship services. Emmanuel, Jacksonville, will worship at 9 a.m. and Mt. Bethel/Salona will worship at Mt. Bethel at 10:30 a.m. Masks and social distancing are required.

Kingdom of Life services

LOCK HAVEN — Kingdom of Life Ministries, 129 Park Ave., Lock Haven, will hold their Sunday morning services at 10:30 a.m. each week. The church will also host a Bible study at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays and a prayer service each Friday at 7 p.m. Pastors are Joyce and Daryl Bucknor. They can be reached by calling 570-768-5360.

In-person services

The churches in the Nittany/Sugar Valley United Methodist Charge are now holding in-person services.

The new Sunday worship times for the churches are Clintondale and Greenburr Trinity at 9 a.m., and Loganton Albright and Mackeyville (beginning April 11) at 10:30 a.m.

Social distancing and mask-wearing are required at all churches.

Zoom services

LOCK HAVEN — First Church of Christ in Lock Haven will be holding livestream services soon.

The services will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. each Sunday via Zoom. To join the service use ID 827 1543 3026 and passcode 068740.

Beech Creek Wesleyan services

BEECH CREEK — Beech Creek Wesleyan Church will hold Sunday service at 9 a.m. and include in person worship, in the parking lot by tuning into 100.5 FM; or live streamed at the Beech Creek Wesleyan Church Facebook page. The church will also have Children’s Sunday School and Tween Sunday School each Sunday morning.
