Flood advisory issued

The National Weather Service in State College has issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for a few Central Pennsylvania counties, including segments of Clinton and Centre counties until 7 p.m.

Heavy rain that will cause urban and small stream flooding was moving through the region. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in the advisory area. Radar estimates that between 2 and 2.5 inches of rain has already fallen.

Some locations that will experience flooding include Bellefonte, Lock Haven, Lewistown, Monument, Glen Union, Flemington, Millheim, Pleasant Gap, Reeds Gap State Park, Highland Park, Spruce Hill, Aaronsburg, Blanchard, Mackeyville, Boalsburg, Burnham, Seven Mountains, Yeagertown, Coburn and Zion.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots, the NWS warned.
