Missing teen returns home last night

REBERSBURG – The missing teen-age boy, Matthew King, returned home at 11:47 p.m. Wednesday, after a search was launched for him 14 hours earlier, involving a state police helicopter, state troopers, Miles Township Fire Co., and other responders.

The 13-year-old left on his own, state police at Rockview reported, and was in good health when he returned.

His father reported him missing from the home at 248 Madisonburg Pike at 9:20 a.m., saying Matthew had left at 6:30 a.m. and was apparently headed for the barn, just a short distance away, police said.

A description of the boy was issued to media outlets around 12 noon, along with a request for anyone with information to call the state police barracks. The search went on into the evening.
