LH mayor declares state of emergency

LOCK HAVEN – Lock Haven City Mayor Joel Long signed a Declaration of a State of Emergency for the city which will not effect private businesses, only city operations. It will be in effect from now until April 5 at the earliest.

The declaration comes only days after council canceled its regular meeting Monday night and shut down city hall and the Second Avenue public works garage to the public to limit the risk of possible exposure to the coronavirus.

As of Wednesday afternoon, no cases of the virus were reported in Clinton County.

“The declaration pertains to city operations and not to private business. The city will continue to provide essential services but restrict access to city facilities,” Long said.

Further information regarding the declaration will be available in Thursday’s edition of The Express.
