Pa. coronavirus cases top 2,200, 531 new cases reported
HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania has confirmed 531 new coronavirus cases, raising the statewide total to 2,218.
The state Department of Health said 22 patients have died due to the virus statewide. The department released new numbers Friday afternoon.
Cases have been reported in 50 of the state’s 67 counties.
There are 21,016 patients who have tested negative, the department said.
The bulk of the cases have been concentrated in Philadelphia and its suburbs. However, cases continue to rise across central and western Pennsylvania.
There are still no reported cases in Clinton County although multiple counties that border Clinton have reported at least one case.
11 cases are reported in Centre County, two in Lycoming and Clearfield and one in Potter, the department said.
