CM, Bucktail cancel graduation ceremonies
MILL HALL – KC Superintendent Jackie Martin has announced that graduation ceremonies for the class of 2020 have been canceled.
“After much deliberation and considering a number of factors, we have decided to cancel the graduation ceremonies that were tentatively scheduled for August 7 at Bucktail High School and August 8 at Central Mountain High School,” Martin said.
This decision was out of an abundance of caution to protect the safety and well-being of our students and families, Martin said, adding that administration also consulted with local health officials, senior class advisors and senior class officers.
“We know our students and families will be disappointed by this news. We share in your disappointment and are saddened to have to take this action,” Martin continued.
She thanked family members, friends, faculty and staff, school board members and all of the community members who have supported our graduates since their first day of kindergarten.
“We are all very proud of them and I am confident that they are prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the future,” Martin said. “Best wishes to all of our graduates!”
