Jersey Shore Town Meeting canceled
JERSEY SHORE – The Borough of Jersey Shore announced Thursday evening that this years Town Meeting has been canceled.
In a Facebook post the borough stated:
“On June 8, 2020 borough council approved the request of the Jersey Shore Town Meeting to hold their annual week-long celebration from July 20-25. Council made this decision based upon the information it had, at that time, in reliance of Gov. Wolf’s color phased plan and orders.
The COVID-19 guidance is fluid and can change daily. As a result of the July 15, 2020 order from Gov. Wolf, Jersey Shore Borough Council met and in an emergency meeting to evaluate whether or not the event could continue in compliance with the order that was put into effect at 12:01 a.m. July 16, 2020.
After thorough consideration of the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Jersey Shore Borough and all others who would attend and/or work at the annual celebration, the decision has been made to require the cancellation of this event. We ask for your patience and understanding during this pandemic and we look forward to the annual celebration returning to our borough in 2021.”
