Paul Brian Breneman

Paul Brian Breneman, 80, of Jersey Shore, unexpectedly went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 16, 2018, at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport.

Born April 17, 1937, in Reading, Pennsylvania. Brian was the son of Paul W. and Stella Mervine Breneman. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Dawn Lafferty.

Brian graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1955. He attended Lycoming College and graduated from Williamsport Technical Institute. He served in the US Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis from 1961-1963, obtaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Early in his life, he worked in his father’s Esso Service Station in Jersey Shore before going to work at GTE Sylvania, continuing work there through the time they became Litton Industries. In 1974, he went to work for the United States Postal Service. Brian was a mail carrier in Jersey Shore and then a Maintenance Technician at the Reach Road Facility. He retired from the USPS in December 2000.

While in good health, Brian enjoyed walking, reading, and traveling. He courageously fought and won the fight against esophageal cancer. An amazingly strong man with a wonderful spirit, he always had a smile and a joke for everyone, regardless of how he was feeling.

Brian is survived by his loving wife, Jane Fenstermaker Breneman. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 1, 2017. He was a wonderful, kind, and thoughtful husband.

In addition, he is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law John and Susan Lehman, David and Donna Fenstermaker, and Robert and Debby Fenstermaker; ten nieces and nephews; ten great nieces and nephews, and one great-great niece.

A memorial service celebrating Brian’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Oriole United Methodist Church, 32 Main Road, Jersey Shore, Pa. Visitation will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning until the time of service at church. Interment will follow at the Jersey Shore Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard. Lunch will be provided in the basement of the Oriole Church following interment services.
