Pauline G. Johnson

Pauline G. Johnson, 96, of 435 Shoemaker Road, McElhattan, passed away May 26, 2018, into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Pauline was born March 24, 1922, the daughter of Robert F. Wagner and Minnie (Cashner) Wagner.

On June 27, 1938, she married the love of her life, Clifford (Tip) Johnson, with whom she celebrated 79 years of marriage.

Pauline worked for many years at Russell Florist in Jersey Shore and at Mountain View Farm in Collomsville, Pa.

Pauline was known for her baking, especially for her homemade bread, raisin filled cookies, and vegetable soup (which she shared with everyone).

Pauline never had an idle moment in her life until the Alzheimer’s came.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in McElhattan.

In addition to her husband, Tip, she is survived by six children: two sons, Leonard (Mae) Johnson, of McElhattan, and Fred C. Johnson, of Collomsville; four daughters, Elizabeth Toner, of Lock Haven, Virginia Briggs (Ed), of Avis, Sara McGinness (Wayne), of Castanea, and Vickie Bardo (Tom), of Castanea; a granddaughter that Pauline and Tip raised, Nicole Bardo, of Flemington; eighteen grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and many great-great grandchildren.

She is also survived by one brother, Jack C. Wagner, of Jersey Shore, and one sister, Mary Ann Welshans, of Collomsville, Pa.

Pauline was predeceased by a grandson, Leonard (Little Joe) Johnson, and a granddaughter, Kathy Smith.

She was also predeceased by three brothers, Robert M. Wagner, Dean F. Wagner, and Allen Eugene Wagner and nine sisters, Kathryn O. Heltman, Florence E. Swinehart, Rhea G. Winchester, May L. Lehman, Susan J. Conser, Shirley D. Eck, Ruth L. Toner, Aline S. Stabley, and Stella Claudius Getgen.

Funeral services for Pauline G. Johnson will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the McElhattan United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Pastor Dave McElwee of the church. Interment will be in the Linnwood Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received in the church one hour prior to the services.
