Raymond J. Tomori

Raymond J. Tomori, 78, of Slate Run, died Sunday July 8, 2018 at his home.

Born Oct. 11, 1939, in New Brunswick, N.J., he was the son of the late Julius Tomori and Ann Fozman Tomori.

Ray honorably served his country in the U.S. Army from May 15, 1963 until April 23, 1965.

He was retired from Dupont, Inc., and for many years was the owner of the Water Street Lounge in Muncy.

He had been a Slate Run resident for the past 20-plus years, and for 45 years he was a member of the Jersey Gun Club.

Ray proudly served his community as former fire chief and first-responder of the Black Forest Fire Co.

Ray is survived by two daughters, Kathleen L. Tomori and husband Tony Ammean of Warminster, Pa., and Rene M. Palmer and husband Scott of Glens Falls, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Samuel; his beloved brother, Robert J. Tomori and sister-in-law Leona Tomori of Monroe Township, N.J.; a niece, Cindy Moran; great-nephews Bobby and Ricki Tomori, and Ryan Moran; and niece Megan Moran.

He was preceded in death by family members including a nephew, Robert Tomori Jr.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 13 at 10 a.m. at the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Welker Funeral Home. Father Bert Kozen will officiate. Full military honors will be conducted at the funeral home Friday by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard. www.WelkerFuneralHome.com.
