Helen M. Munro

Helen, M. (Bowman) Munro, 80, of Mill Hall, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, at U.P.M.C. Williamsport Hospital.

She was born on Nov. 14, 1937, in Lock Haven, and was the daughter of the late George H. and Ruth (Young) Bowman.

On May 22, 1954, Helen married the late Richard L. Munro and they celebrated 60 years of marriage together until his death on Mar. 1, 2015.

Helen was a graduate of Mill Hall High School, Class of 1956, she went on to work for Lock Haven University for 25 years and retired in 2005.

She enjoyed bingo, her dogs, hunting, fishing, traveling and gardening.

Helen is survived by two sons, Richard L. and James L. Munro, both of Mill Hall; one daughter and son-in-law, Julie A. and Thomas Heineman of Beech Creek; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by two daughters, Robin Ardner and Debra Orndorf; three brothers, Dean, Fred and Bob Bowman and two sisters, Belva Zell and Mary Allison.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Clinton County S.P.C.A. 33 Mill Hill Road, Lock Haven, Pa.

A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 2 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, followed by the funeral service at 12 noon with Pastor Mark E. Riley officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
