Harold E. Killinger, Jr.

Harold E. Killinger, Jr, 90, of Beech Creek, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019 at the Haven Skilled Nursing Center in Lock Haven.

Born on Dec. 10, 1929, in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Harold E. and Velma M. Hamburger Killinger, Sr. He was married to Marie Rickert Killinger.

Harold attended the Lock Haven High School before joining the United States Army in 1963.

He served 20 years and received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (5th Award) and the Expert MSLMAN Badge for his service.

After leaving the Army, Harold worked at numerous places including the Local 824, installing pipelines for various industries in the area before his retirement.

Harold enjoyed fishing and hunting. He traveled many times to Canada with his boat to go fishing. He loved to cook. He attended the Beech Creek Wesleyan Church and was a long-time member of the Beech Creek American Legion Post 623.

Harold is survived by his brother, Ronald C. Killinger and his wife, Norma, of Beech Creek, and two step granddaughters.

Along with his parents and ex-wife, Harold was preceded in death by his step son, Walter Killinger and his wife, Patricia Killinger; three brothers, Robert, Saylor, and James, and two sisters, Shirley Killinger and Katheryn Cane.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home in Howard.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Alan Eckenroad officiating. Interment will be at the Rest Haven Cemetery in Lock Haven.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kader-Neff Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 135 Main St., Howard.
