Doris L. (Karstetter) Heggenstaller

Doris L. (Karstetter) Heggenstaller, 89, widow of Joseph S. Heggenstaller of Loganton, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Pa.

Born on April 8, 1930 in Brush Valley, Pa. she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Dorothy (Garrett) Karstetter.

She was a graduate of the former Sugar Valley High School, Loganton, Pa. Class of 1948.

Doris was a member of the Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren, Eastville, Pa. and a former member of the former Greenburr German Reformed Church.

She enjoyed quilting, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Doris is survived by two sons, Dana Heggenstaller (Linda), of Indiana, Pa., and Tim Heggenstaller (Jenni), of Afton, Wyo.; a daughter Laurie Hardisky, of Eastville, Pa.; six grandchildren, Dan Heggenstaller (Emily), of Loganton, Jason Heggenstaller, of Alpine, Wyo., Garrett Heggenstaller, of Afton, Wyo., Mandy Larson (Gus), of Afton, Wyo., Justine Shady, of Loganton, and Mikaela Heggenstaller, of Eastville, Pa.; five great-grandchildren, Hannah Heggenstaller, Vanna Schwab, Lilly Larson, Rylee Jo Shady and Joshua Shady and a brother Ken Karstetter, of McElhattan.

In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by two daughters Melissa E. and Beth Heggenstaller.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren, 2305 E. Winter Rd., Loganton, Pa. 17747, with Pastor Ken Geisewite officiating.

A viewing will be held in the church on Sunday, June 2, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. and also on Monday one hour prior to the service. Final Interment will be held in the adjoining church cemetery.

Please omit flowers if desired memorials may be made in Doris’ name to her church.
