Clarahissa R. Hanley
Clarahissa Ruth Hanley, 81, of Orviston, passed away at her home on Friday, July 5, 2019.
She was born in Jacksonville on April 30, 1938, a daughter of the late Walter and Mabel Peters Jeirles.
On May 11, 1957 she was united in marriage to Paul W. “Pud” Hanley. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2013.
She was a teacher’s aide for many years at Liberty Curtin Elementary School in Blanchard. She enjoyed watching sporting events on television, but got her greatest enjoyment watching her grandchildren participating in their sporting events. She was known as a very good cook and enjoyed doing so.
She is survived by two daughters, Stacy (Bill) Hopkins, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and Darla Jo Chubb, of Norwood, N.C.; a son, Michael Paul Hanley, of Orviston; three sisters, Viola Mosser, of Salona, Colleen Jeirles, of Lock Haven, and Olive Connelley, of Orviston; and a brother, Terry (Donna) Jeirles, of Mill Hall. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Meesha Wilson, Michael Hanley, Marcie Jo Peters, and Kelsey Lynn Chubb; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Jeirles.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St., Howard, with Rev. Alan S. Eckenroad officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at Summit Hill Cemetery at the family’s convenience.
