James H. Dershem Jr.

James H. Dershem, Jr., 41, of Lock Haven passed away Friday, Sept. 27 at Geisinger Hospital in Danville. His family and friends called him by his nickname “Jay.” He was born Aug. 25, 1978 at Jersey Shore Hospital. His parents are Jim Dershem, Sr. of Lock Haven and Cheryl Driesbach of Lewistown.

Jay is survived by his three wonderful children Jackson, Alex and Chloe Dershem and their mom Stephanie Eck; his sisters, Anna Dershem of Mill Hall and Jamie Dershem of Lock Haven; a brother Mike Corbin of Lock Haven and several family members.

Jay attended Lock Haven High School, IUP and Penn College. From age 6 through his high school years Jay played baseball, football and wrestled.

Jay enjoyed spending time with his children, family and friends, playing his guitar, listening to heavy metal music, was a talented artist with his drawing and loved his pets.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Harriet Dershem of Lock Haven and his maternal grandparents Arthur and Hazel Ertwine of Slate Run.

Memorial services for James H. Dershem, Jr. will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019 at 1 p.m. in the Faith United Methodist Church, 23 E. Brown St., Castanea, Pa. Family and friends will be received in the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the services.
