Earl Franklin Rhinehart
Earl Franklin Rhinehart, 91, of East Main Street, Loganton, Pa. passed away from this life to his eternal home on Nov. 9, 2019.
Earl was born April 6, 1928 in Lock Haven (Gravel Hill). Earl was the son of the late Edward F. and Emma (Hoffman) Rhinehart. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Geary Haywood on Dec. 22, 1972. They were married 44 years at the time of her death in 2017.
Earl went to work at the Silk Mill in his early years before going to Piper Aircraft in 1948 where he worked until it’s closing in 1985, he then worked for George Ruckel for three years before going to Brodart in Williamsport where he retired in 1997. Earl worked for Schrack’s Valley Service and the Borough of Loganton in his retirement and he also enjoyed farming, raising beef, and mowing lawns. Earl took great pleasure just sitting on his porch or in his living room chair looking out the window and taking in the view of the valley. He was a regular at Nan’s Donut Shop every Wednesday and Saturday and the local restaurants. Earl was a friend to many people and was a kind and generous man, always greeting people with a smile on his face.
Earl was the father of one son Kenneth (Linda) Rhinehart of Waterville and the stepfather of two sons, Gary (Suzanne) Haywood of Danville and David (Lisa) Haywood of Loganton. Earl was a grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather.
Along with his children and grandchildren he is survived by a brother Russell (Beverly) Rhinehart of Lock Haven, a sister Collen Shields of Jersey Shore and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by five brothers, Paul, Ernie, Bob, Don and Freddie and four sisters, Thelma Robinson, Grace Bowers, Shirley Rogers and Irene Whitman.
Earl was a member of Albright United Methodist Church, Loganton, Pa.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Albright United Methodist Church, 47 E Main St. (P.O. Box 86), Loganton, Pa. 17747 with Pastor Elizabeth Taylor officiating. A viewing will be held in the church on Friday, Nov. 15, 2019 from 6 – 8 p.m. and also on Saturday from 10 – 11 a.m. Private Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery, Loganton, Pa. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Earl’s name to his church.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Wayne P. Urbine Funeral Home, Inc., 95 East Main St., Loganton, Pa.
