Mark K. Ammerman
Mark K. Ammerman, 64, of Newport, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020 while camping with his family. He was the husband of Diane F. (Kurz) Ammerman, who survives. The couple were married 36 years at the time of his passing.
Mark was born on Nov. 9, 1955 in Lock Haven. He was the son of the late Robert E. Ammerman.
He graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1973. Mark entered into the US Navy and retired in 1994 with over 20 years of service.
Mark later worked at the Perry County Prison and retired in 2014.
He was a member of the Guantanamo Bay Association, the Teamsters, and the National Rifle Association.
Mark enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, scuba diving, and cooking outdoors on his grill and smoker.
He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and doing projects with his son.
In addition to his wife, Mark is survived by his three children Gina (Chad) Sosik of North Wales, Pa., Amy Ammerman and her fiance, Jake Saltzburg of Blain, and Matthew Ammerman of Millerstown; a grandson, Reed Ammerman; a brother, Robert (Kay) Ardner of Elizabethtown; a sister, Claudette Fish of Waterville; his mother-in-law, Edna Kurz of Trevose, Pa., and his loving extended family.

A walk through viewing will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 606 N. Front St., Liverpool followed by a private service for the immediate family. Officiating will be Pastor John Kratz.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in loving memory of Mark to the Pennsylvania Wounded Warrior Project, 1117 Country Club Road, Camp Hill, Pa. 17011.
