Mary Lou Smith
Mary Lou Smith, 87, 201 Hobson St., Mill Hall, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020 at her home. Born April 19, 1933 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Manuel B. and Ada F. Winters Andrus. On Sept. 18, 1954 she married Bruce C. Smith, who died March 2, 2005.
Mary Lou was a 1951 graduate of Lock Haven High School, a member of the Mill Hall United Methodist Church, a former Girl Scout Leader and was well known because of her involvement with the Daffodil sales. Mary Lou was a former Pink Lady at the Lock Haven Hospital and was the widow of a former U. S. Force Officer.
Survivors include a daughter, Linn W. Smith of Mill Hall; a son, Thomas (Deborah) Smith, of Cedar City, UT; a brother Richard Andrus of Flemington; a grandaughter, Brooke (Anthony) Bettilyon of Frederick, MD., and two great-grandchildren, Regan and Grayson Bettilyon.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Diehl and Eleanor Higgins, and two brothers, Manuel and Richard Andrus.
Funeral services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
There will be no public visitation.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mill Hall United Methodist Church or the Women’s Center through the funeral home.
