Debra Ann Leathers
Debra Ann Leathers, 65, of Mill Hall, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after a courageous battle with cancer on Sept. 3, 2021 at the Kerrville Veterans Hospital, Kerrville, Texas.
She was born on Nov. 11, 1955, in Fort Ord, Calif., the daughter of the late Donald and Narita Monhollan Vermeulen Sr. On June 13, 1980 she was united in marriage to Robert E. Leathers in Papillion, Neb. He preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 2021.
She proudly served her country in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. She was the First Sergeant of the 21st Air Lift Squadron at Travis AFB in California.
Debra was a member of the Big Woods Bible Church, Lock Haven. She was a lover of camping, sitting by fire pits, nature, books, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by a son, Robert E. Leathers III of Mifflinburg, a daughter, Jessica L. Grubb-Leathers and her husband A.J. Grubb of Louisiana, a brother, Donald J. Vermeulen of Texas, and two grandchildren, Lincoln Kellas and Kayley Leathers.
A private burial will be at Schenck’s Cemetery, Howard.
