Each Saturday, The Express community newspaper highlights people, groups and activities our readers deem worthy of applause.
We would like to send out a big APPLAUSE and an even bigger thank you to everyone who called, and everyone who has sent cards and prayers to us after we were injured in a car accident in May 2018. They were greatly appreciated. A special thank you goes out to the Beech Creek Wesleyan Church for all of your prayers and a special thank you to the Beech Creek Blanchard Friendship Community Center for the fundraiser that they did for us. Special thanks also goes to everyone who donated baskets and purchased tickets at the fund raiser. God bless you all,

The Penn State Master Gardeners of Clinton County would like to give a big round of APPLAUSE to Diane Michura, Chryslynne Gray, and Emily Montarsi for the beautiful preparations they made for our Annual Dinner. They literally transformed the Extension Office into a lush forest, complete with ferns, logs, branches, and wildlife, and illuminated it with tiny lights. Each table was set with runners of moss, twigs, and candles. The dinner was delicious and the evening a complete success, thanks to their efforts. Diane, Chryslynne, and Emily completed the Master Gardener Basic Training Course in March 2018 and were formally welcomed at the event. The Master Gardeners would also like to thank Wayne Laubscher for his very informative presentation on owls.
A huge round of APPLAUSE go to my hard-working, conscientious and confident officers of the Clinton County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees. The fall luncheon was a success. They are Donna Yost, Phyllis Grenoble, Joanne Heimer, Denice Kramer, Fran Kramer, Betty Giles, and Helen Newlen. The chefs of the Flemington First Church of Christ prepared a delicious lunch.
