Each Saturday, The Express community newspaper highlights people, groups and activities our readers deem worthy of applause.
A huge round of APPLAUSE to the ladies of Dogwood Circle. You planted a beautiful display at the Civil War Monument and by Triangle Park. You all have “Green Thumbs!” Thank you for your dedication of beautifying Lock Haven.

Thursday afternoon, May 14, 2020, my husband and I were at the Mill Hall Walmart for a few groceries. In front of us in line to check out was a lady with a “Pitt” jacket and a “Pitt” face mask on. When she finished loading her groceries and as the clerk started checking ours through, the lady started putting our bags in her cart. When ours were checked out and I went up to pay for them, the cashier told me, “The Lord was looking over you today, the lady before you also paid for your groceries.” We were shocked and so grateful for that kind gesture and want to THANK that angel in Walmart. It was so much appreciated and we intend to pass this act of kindness to someone else. thank you so much.
