Each Saturday, The Express community newspaper highlights people, groups and activities our readers deem worthy of applause.
A huge THANK YOU to each one that assisted with the Beech Creek Wesleyan Vacation Bible School this year. Thank you to the families for the great group of children who attended, Curt and Sondra Kader for the Kona Ice, and the Beech Creek Blanchard Fire Company. Thank you Lorie Eckenroad for directing the Bible School.
I want to THANK the Fire Police who responded so quickly to a downed tree across the road between Avis and Woolrich on Monday. Without their assistance passing motorists would have had a long wait at the least. There might have been a crash or two. We are blessed by their selfless volunteer service!
A huge round of APPLAUSE goes to Terry Banfill. He makes sure the American flag at Veterans’ Circle is new. He replaced the tattered one with a new one. Thank you from the board of directors.
On behalf of the Porter Township Recreation Board, we would like to THANK the the Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven for sharing and allowing Porter Township to use the flags of honor to decorate for their Veterans memorial and baseball field dedication events Saturday June 12, at the Recreation Park. A big thank you to the Jersey Shore Honor Guard who performed a wonderful service and 21-gun salute. Also thank you John MacMillan for your wonderful talent of bagpiping and to all the guest speakers for your contribution of time and effort that made the events a success with all your help. Thank you to the community for coming out to share the day.

Hello Everyone, You know I wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t get my THANK YOU out for all the people who helped or came to our Hymn Sing last Sunday night and made it a success. But more importantly I want to thank God. Oh yeah, it rained indeed but we were all nice and dry under the pavilion (until we went to leave). Hey, but it was warm out and if we did get a little damp it didn’t feel that bad. I heard through the grapevine that one lady said it was one of the nicest hymn sing’s she’s ever been to and she hopes we do it again. God is good all the time! Thanks Everyone!
The Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank would like to THANK Walker’s Hardware for delivering the shelving that we purchased there. They not only delivered the shelving but also put it together for us! We’d also like to thank them for the monetary donation to the Shoe Bank! It was a wonderful surprise and we really appreciate it! We will miss them when they close! Thanks again for everything! — Dave Benner
The Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank would like to THANK Greyson Cowfer of Renovo for throwing out the first pitch for us at Tuesday night’s Crosscutters game. Way to go Greyson!
The Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank would like to THANK the Crosscutters and Pennsylvania Skills for selecting us for their charity night at the ball park in Williamsport this past Tuesday. We appreciated the chance to showcase the Shoe Bank as well as the $500 check they presented to us that evening. Everything was well organized and everyone who worked at the park was so helpful and friendly. It’s a nice place to take your family. We were very impressed with our whole experience.
