Applause, Applause

Each Saturday, The Express community newspaper highlights people, groups and activities our readers deem worthy of applause.

This is being reprinted at the request of the Hi-Neighbor Committee since a business name had been omitted from the first printing.

The Flemington Hi-Neighbor Committee would like to THANK the following businesses and individuals that donated prizes for the seniors who attended the Flemington Church of Christ’s annual Thanksgiving Dinner held in November.

Those donating were: Advance Auto, Arbys, Best Auto, Betsy Coffey, Mary Lee Confer, Candy Showan, Cottage Restaurant, Dunkin Donuts, Dunnstown Diner, For Gent’s Only, Hair Refinery, Hangar 9, It Is What It Is, KFC, Lori Reluso, Lowe’s, Main Street Candles and Scents and More, Monica’s, Number One Nails, Oasis, ONail, Rey Azteca, Second Cup, Stella A’s, Sweeney’s, Tina Geyer, Weis of Lock Haven and Weis of Mill Hall. Eight fruit baskets were also donated by the Hi-Neighbor Committee and made by Judy Durkin.

Also, a huge THANK YOU to the Flemington Church of Christ for allowing our committee to take part in this wonderful annual event. There was great socializing, excellent food and many happy seniors, especially those lucky winners of the great prizes that had been donated.

Thank you to all those who helped make our annual “Christmas for Kids Benefit Bags” a success. With the support of the auction family, Sheila Neufer, Abby Foster, Mallory Fisher, Sharon Stover, Thrift Addicted Pickers (Buddy & Teresa Yost), and Mia Bella’s Vintage and Retro (April Randolph & Tracy Foster) we were able to help three families at Christmas and have enough funds to help some more families throughout the year. We are truly thankful for the wonderful community support to ensure the success of our project.
