Applause, Applause!
Each Saturday, The Express community newspaper highlights people, groups and activities our readers deem worthy of applause.
We are extremely proud and thankful to be part of the greater Lock Haven community for its amazing support of The Frozen Snot Adventure Race trail event held on Feb 1, 2025 in Zindel Park!
Our team includes Race Director Luke Ebeling, Coordinator of Volunteers Joanne Heimer. Operations Coordinator Jane Kone, Trail Boss Paul Noll, and Registration/Social Media Coordinator Maddie Sell. As a team, we put plans in place, but we could not carry out the event without the army of 80 some volunteers and the support of the Community (a special shout-out to the FSHC Trail Team, Leadership Clinton County Alumni, the Bacon Station team, and Gorge Guy Randy Gillen and Gorge Hawk Craig Hakin).
We would especially like to acknowledge (in no particular order) Restless Oaks & the Maguire family, the City of Lock Haven, DCNR Bald Eagle State Forest, Clinton County Chamber and Tourism Director Kira Rosamilia, Clinton County Dept of Emergency Services, Blake Cohen, Domino’s of LH, Dunkin of LH, Falcon Race Timing, Little Caesar’s of Mill Hall, the Lock Haven Express, Love’s Disposal Inc., Mike McNeil, Oregon Hill Winery, The Record On-Line, Redmond’s Complete Comfort, Revibe Gear, Rocksylvania Trail Series, Tiadaghton Embroidery & Screenprinting, The Trails Collective, Wayne Twp. Fire Co, Wayne Twp. Landfill, & the US Army Reserve Center.
This is an enormous undertaking, but, with so many people each doing their part, it becomes an incredible event of which we are proud! Racers consistently comment about the wonderful volunteers! Imagine the delight of racers on such a cold day as they pass each mile coming to a checkpoint with a welcoming fire and encouraging cheers of support! The smiles on their faces as they cross the finish line tell the whole story!
— The Frozen Snot team
As Coretta Scott King said, “The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.”
To the Community: On Feb. 23, 2025, there was an event held to help a person within our community.
The planning team of Sunday Funday, would like to personally say THANK YOU. This daylong event was held to help Neil Grant during his fight with cancer. The support that was shown from this community is a reminder of how people can pull together to help one another during their time of need. We would love to name everybody individually that supported this event however we would truly be upset if we forgot anybody.
We do want to take a moment to acknowledge the following businesses and people for making this possible: Reese’s Print Shop for donating the tickets for the Chicken Bar-B-Que, The Sons of Italy for the use of their beautiful patio, WSQV for sharing the information of the event, Mick and Renee Hockenberry for being the amazing people they are. To all of the people who worked at the event, THANK YOU, for doing an amazing job! We could never forget, Private Stock Trio, you rocked us out for the night and your kindness brought this day full circle. There are many people who made this day successful and please know, we are truly appreciative of all of your support and donations. To the team who pulled together to make this event happen, YOU are a CLASS ACT.
In closing, Neil — you have a community supporting you and walking this walk with you. Stay Strong and Stay Positive.
Thank you to the community for the overwhelming support, Bless you all!
