Elsie ‘EJ’ Richmond

Elsie “EJ” Richmond (nee Murphy), 94, passed away peacefully at her home on Dec. 2, 2025.

She was the beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Richmond.

She was a devoted mother to Kelly O’Brien; and the dear sister of the late Shirley.

She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

A dedicated registered nurse, EJ proudly served her country as a captain in the Air Force Nurse Corps, a role that reflected her lifelong commitment to caring for others with compassion and grace.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., at St. Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, Pa., followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Forest Hills Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in EJ’s memory would be appreciated to Local 22 Charitable Trust Widows Fund, 415 N. 5th St., Philadelphia, PA 19123 or to Fox Chase Cancer Center, Office of Institutional Advancement, 333 Cottman Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19111.
