PLEASE: It’s heating season so practice safety, common sense
Talking about health and safety, here’s our regular reminder to practice safety and common sense now that heating season is here.
Don’t take anything for granted when it comes to your boiler, your chimney, your fireplace or stove .. whether you’re burning natural or LP gas, wood, coal, corn or pellets.
PLEASE take heed:
5 Install smoke alarms on every level of your home, inside bedrooms and outside sleeping areas.
5 Test smoke alarms every month.
5 Talk with YOUR CHILDREN and ALL family members about a fire escape plan and practice the plan twice a year.
5 If a fire occurs in your home, GET OUT, STAY OUT and CALL FOR HELP.
Each year, several thousand children die in home fires.
Nearly 90 percent of all fire-related deaths are due to home fires, which spread rapidly and can leave families as little as two minutes to escape once an alarm sounds.
Use common sense, folks … whether you’re a homeowner or a renter.
