Most people shy away when an emergency strikes.
However, there are a few who run toward the trouble to provide care and lend their assistance. We refer to these brave individuals as Emergency Medical Services (EMS) professionals. Paramedics, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), firefighters, police officers and many others are on call and ready to assist whenever and wherever emergencies occur. Many times, they save lives by risking their own. At all times, we depend on their courage, knowledge and communication skills to ensure our communities are safe, healthy and informed.
During National EMS Week, May 21 to 27, please join Geisinger in honoring these everyday heroes for their dedicated service and commitment to caring. We are proud to serve as their partners in delivering lifesaving and lifechanging medical care to those who need it most.
