MARLIN D. LILLEY JR.
If you’ve watched the confirmation hearing of Judge Brett Kavanaugh for the U.s. Supreme Court, it was clear by the questioning of the judge by California U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein that one of the top priorities of the left is to gut the 2nd Amendment.
In her effort to confuse the watching public, she repeatedly used the false term “assault weapons” to describe semi-automatic rifles, arguing that they are not in “common use.”
Once again, the old Communist axiom that if you tell a lie loud enough, and long enough, sooner or later it will be seen as the truth.
Now let’s be clear about the truth: Semi-automatic rifles are not “assault weapons.”
An assault weapon is a fully automatic weapon in use by law enforcement and the military.
These weapons have been banned from the general public for decades.
However, semi-auto rifles are the most popular firearm in use today.
They are used for hunting, target shooting and self-defense.
Any object can be considered a dangerous weapon if it is used to harm another person, It could be a gun, a knife, a vehicle, an airplane, etc. The fact that a handful of miss-fits utilize these objects as weapons is no excuse to strip all Americans of their 2nd Amendment rights.
