Grave desecration

KEVIN FRYER

Just when you think some people in our area can’t get any worse, they do.

I went to see some of my relatives recent at Cedar Hill Cemetery to pay my respects to family at the family plot. There are two veterans buried there; one is from World War I and the other from World War II.

I knew these men and remember them being very proud of there service to their country. I have been to this cemetery many times and have always had to move the marker and flag to its proper spot, which is over the veteran’s chest.

Just thinking that the guys cut grass there apparently forget to put it back?

When I recently went there I saw someone had drilled a hole in the corner of the base stone and glued the marker and flag there.

So now I’m standing there and I figured it out: They dont want to be bothered with removing the flags and putting them back where they belong.

I looked around and almost all like of the flags were not flying over these veterans’ graves. Apparently, in Clinton County we fly our veterans flags off to the side to make it easy on ourselves to cut grass.

This is not right. It should not be allowed to happen.

I wonder if all those veterans would have thought as much? Perhaps we would all be speaking German. It just never ceases to amaze me how some people in this county behave, starting with schools very few seem to want to go to and county and state government full of pet projects and welfare at taxpayers’ expense.

When will it end?
