Time’s up

It’s reckoning time for the rich and powerful. Harvey Weinstein was just found guilty of rape and sexual assault. Jurors believed the women.

The day the Weinstein verdict was announced, and the day after, the National Sexual Assault Hotline reported a 23% increase in call volume. That same hotline had its biggest call spike ever–a 338% increase–after Professor Christine Blasey Ford testified that Supreme Court Nominee (now Justice) Brett Kavanaugh had sexually assaulted her.

Calls increased by 53% after an excerpt from columnist E. Jean Carroll’s memoir was published in New York Magazine alleging President Donald Trump raped her in the mid-1990s.

According to the Business Insider, at least 25 women have accused President Trump of sexual misconduct since the 1970s! Trump, of course, calls them all liars. The most powerful man in the world, our President, our Bully in the White House, calls them all liars.

Throughout his election campaign, and while in office, Trump has incessantly used his power, dominance and prestige to mock, threaten, harass, taunt or socially alienate his perceived enemies.

It is absolutely no stretch to believe he has exerted his “power and control” over women. His infamous claim that, as a star, he could grab women “by the p …” takes on a whole new reality. Fellow women, this is a major wake-up call. We may not be able to prosecute a sitting president, but we can vote him out of office.
