Integrity and fairness of the 2020 General Election

MICHAEL PRENDERGAST

Bellefonte

From state Sen. Jake Corman: Thank you for contacting me to share your concerns regarding the integrity and fairness of the recent 2020 General Election.

To date, I have heard similar concerns from many other constituents in form of phone calls, e-mail messages, web contact and written correspondence. Many of your concerns relate to the security of mail-in ballots and the process of counting votes; all of which I believe are very legitimate and credible issues that need to be resolved. We all deserve to learn more so that we may again have complete confidence in our election process and results.

(Recently) I circulated a co-sponsorship memo to all members of the Senate, outlining my intent to introduce a Senate Resolution that will propose the establishment of a Bipartisan Special Committee on Election Integrity and Reform.

The Special Committee will focus on the review of all aspects of the 2020 General Election, including: the security of the vote before, during and after Election Day; the accuracy and security of the election process, particularly during the pre-canvassing and canvassing stages; the uniformity of the election processes across the Commonwealth; the impact and role of our judiciary on the election process; the impact and role of the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in issuing interpretations, guidance and instructions regard the election process and the conduct of the election as a whole; and other election issues that may come before the Committee.

We must act now to ensure integrity is restored to voting through this bipartisan effort. I assure you that I will continue to do all that I can on your behalf, as residents of the 34th Senatorial District, to promote the integrity of the election process in our Commonwealth.

My response to Sen. Corman: I am a veteran election poll worker. You and the rest of the Republican senators are the ones who have muddied the waters around the elections.

By trying to legitimize President Trump’s baseless and insulting claims or “massive voter fraud” and “questionable” mail-in ballots. Anyone who questions the fairness and accuracy of the elections (in Pennsylvania at the very least) should sign up to work the polls and witness the process first hand. It is a long day, at minimum pay, but it will dispel any notion of a “rigged” election.

You, and the other Republican elected officers, should be extremely thankful to the voters of the United States, in that they made a concerted effort to separate you from the President.

The Republican party made out fabulously in the last election, while a large portion of the Republican voters voted for Joe Biden, but split their tickets to vote for “down ticket” Republicans.

At the polling station I worked, approximately 75% of the in-person voters were registered Republicans, the totals at the end of the night showed and almost 50-50 split between Biden and Trump.

Not to put too fine a point on it, They (probably 25%) voted to keep you, but NOT President Trump!

Now that you are showing yourselves to be President Trump’s lackeys, maybe we should redo the elections and see how that 25% feels about you now?
