Reform the rules
BILL VANDENBERG
Howard
The Pennsylvania Legislature has started a new session. The usual first order of business is to adopt rules of procedure.
In the past this has meant ramming through (on the very first day) rules that strip rank-and-file members of almost all power to actually represent their constituents. This year, why not adopt more fair rules?
For instance, a rule that guarantees that bills with strong public, bipartisan support actually get a vote?
Contact your representatives in Harrisburg and tell them NOT to go along with the first-day power grab.
