What did we learn in 2020?

JIM HIRONIMUS

White Hall

A new year is upon us and it is time to look at what we learned from the past year.

We learned that a deadly virus has come and people are putting politics ahead of science.

We learned other countries can control the virus through strict closures and with great impact to their business and economy: But they chose health and safety before profit and gain!

We learned that a political party will call an election fraudulent, but only the part of it concerning the president? Guess the other politicians who got elected on the same ballots are legal?

We learned that it is now a show of manliness to not wear a mask that can save lives and to not speak out against businesses that refuse to follow guidelines put forth to help slow the spread of a disease. We have politicians that are more worried about getting voted back into office than standing up for Democracy.

We have seen different groups of people use their religion as a way to refuse the wear of face masks?

We have been made more aware of the fact that time and time again the color of a person’s skin will get them a better chance of getting killed or abused by police.

We have learned that people/friends we once thought we knew, we really didn’t. They may have proven to be racist or of a different political party or just that they used to be people we thought had integrity and would stand up for those oppressed, only to find out they have zero integrity or moral fortitude.

We have lost friends and loved ones to this virus that so many say is just a political ploy or a joke!

What did you learn from 2020 ??
