For The People Act of 2021
The U.S. House of Representatives got off to a good start by approving H.R. 1 and sending it to the Senate. This bill addresses voter access, enhanced security, campaign finance reform and ethics in government.
This bill also sets election uniformity, same-day registration, vote by mail, early voting and limits removing voters names from voter rolls. It requires states to create an independent commission to make fair and equal voting districts. The bill improves protection from cyber hacks. It prohibits foreign donations to campaigns and requires public disclosure about the sources of political donations.
It deals with many ethics behavior issues and requires the president and vice president to publicly disclose 10 years of their tax returns.
Our 12th District representative in Congress voted “no” on H.R. 1.
Why would he not want fair and equal voting districts?
Why would he not want public knowledge of where campaign donations come from?
Why would he not want improved election security?
Why would he not want the president and vice president to release their income tax returns?
The next election, we should vote to not want to re-election Fred Keller.
Call Pennsylvania U.S. Sens. Pat Toomey and Bob Casey and ask them to vote “yes” on For The People Act of 2021.
